CAN I HELP?
The trails in Comlara are maintained and expanded by volunteers. In the past couple of
years we have really started to have a disciplined approach towards keeping the trails in
good shape. As with any group of volunteerss, people will help as their schedules and
obligations allow them - and we're deeply grateful for whatever time and effort people put
into helping us.
The biggest help you can provide the club is your active participation!!! We obviously need
helping hands - in a literal way - but we also need ideas and opinions. Our two most
frequent events are a monthly meeting the first Wednesday of each month and a workday the
following weekend - be sure to check the events page to confirm the date and place.

If you've already been to the Comlara trail system, or are considering starting riding
there, and you're not currently involved in another bicycle club, we would like you to
consider joining CORBA.
Convinced? Click here for further instructions on what to do.
OK, so the initial sales pitch didn't work that well. What do you gain by joining the club?
The main advantage to joining CORBA, apart from the social scene, is that you can help to
preserve and expand the current trail system. The new trail was built thanks to the input
and labor of all of us. If you ride it you will notice that it's completely different than
the other six trails. The biggest reason why it's different is because some of us expressed
a desire to have faster, more open and less technical trails. We are also planning another
trail that's compeltely different to the ones that already exist - our initial vision is an
even faster section, with long climbs and descents.
As to other reasons to join, the main ones are of the social nature. We organize group
rides, in which we go to another trail, ride it, organize a cookout, and have a good time.
We also have a yearly race, called Mud, Sweat and Gears. Everybody has a lot of fun - even
those who actually run the race.
Still not convinced? No problema.
Now, direct participation is not the only way to help us. Here's a list of things that we
appreciate if you can give us a hand with
Ride only when the trails are open. There's two reasons why the trails get closed: they're
muddy or it's hunting season (please leave your antlers at home)
Stay on the designated trails. And, please, do not cut new trails or alter the existing
ones. If you have an idea, come to a meeting and tell us about it.
Be friendly to other trail users. Greet them, wave and smile. Make sure you slow down or
stop for hikers/joggers.
Stay in control of your bike at all times - and avoid skidding.
Have fun!!
