Lori, one of our most dedicated members, wants to see if there's a chance that several women
who ride would get together and have a good time. Her words are better than mine ... read
on:
This would be really informal. I know our abilities range from very beginner to
intermediate - or in the case of Sara, practically expert. The point of these rides
though, would be to
By skills, I mean everything from just getting the ol' legs and lungs in shape, learning how
to use your gears to help pace your effort and beginner handling skills on up to learning to
ride the tougher obstacles - logpiles, ravines, bridges etc. As far as a pace - I thought
riding at a beginner's pace is fun for the more advanced riders because they can chat away.
When we need to stop for the beginner's, we could do so at one of the obstacles or at an
intersection where the better rider's could play around or take a quick loop (5 minutes) and
join back up.
We thought that after a few rides at Comlara, we could possibly branch out and do rides at
other parks. Kickapoo (I love this trail!) and Jubilee come to mind first - they are a lot
of fun and have options for all skill levels. Indy would be good too but is a little harder
trail than the other two.
So, let's make the guys watch the kids (or let me know if you need a babysitter - I have a
14-year-old who likes to sit) and get together once a month or so.
Let me know if you're interested and send me any ideas, comments or questions. If
interested, let me know if there is a certain day of the week that works best for you. Also
forward this email to any other female riders you think might be interested. After I get a
few responses, I will email everyone back with more information.
